The World Afrika Day Block Party returns to Boston for its third year, transforming Downtown Crossing into a vibrant celebration of Afrika’s rich culture, music, and community. This outdoor event brings together DJs, artists, vendors, and sponsors from across the continent, highlighting the diasporic sounds and traditions of Afrika—using the continent’s pre-colonial spelling as a nod to its deep heritage. First launched in Boston in 2022, the series has since expanded nationwide, including events in founder Jonathan Bekele’s ancestral home of Ethiopia. Join the festivities at Summer Street Plaza (Washington @ Summer St.) from 2:00 – 7:00 PM for an unforgettable day of music, culture, and connection.
