The 125 Summer Street Plaza

Formerly a busy urban road (South Street), 125 Summer Street Plaza was developed in tandem with the modern 125 Summer Street office tower, which debuted in 1989. It benefited immensely from “The Big Dig“–the dismantling, in the early 2000s, of The Central Artery, the adjacent elevated highway. As a result, what was formerly a noisy, polluted urban streetscape became the enchanting Greenway. The Plaza’s numerous plantings include a tribute to the Downtown Boston Alliance’s founding president, Rosemarie Sansone.
